Position Overview:
The Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville seeks an innovative, results-driven, and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization in its mission to support and strengthen the Nashville Jewish community. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader capable of engaging and re-engaging donors and volunteers, and driving organizational change, growth and success. The candidate will also need to possess a quantifiable track record of managing large and complex fundraising campaigns. This position requires a passionate commitment to Jewish values, a strong connection to the State of Israel, and the ability to manage and inspire a dedicated team of lay leadership, volunteers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Engagement and Community Building:
    Cultivate a robust network of volunteers, engaging them in meaningful roles within the Jewish Federation. Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain new volunteers and leaders, ensuring a vibrant and engaged community base. Serve as the Jewish Federation's primary spokesperson, fostering collaboration and partnerships within the Jewish community and beyond.
  • Strategic Vision and Change Management:
    Working in close cooperation with the Jewish Federation's Board of Directors, serve as a visionary leader, driving the Jewish Federation's strategic direction and long-term goals. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, adapting to changing community needs and global trends. Implement organizational changes that enhance the impact of Jewish Federation programs and services.
  • Personnel and Financial Management:
    Lead and inspire the Jewish Federation staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth. Create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to achieve their best. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for all team members. Demonstrate a proven expertise and working knowledge of non-profit fiscal management in the areas of budgeting and financial reporting that allows the organization to offer institutional accountability and transparency to all its constituents.
  • Fundraising Leadership:
    Lead and oversee all fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual campaigns, capital campaigns, endowments and planned giving. Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, foundations, and other philanthropic entities to ensure financial sustainability and growth. Be able to identify key trends in contemporary philanthropy and adapt such trends, as appropriate, into the Jewish Federation's ongoing fundraising efforts.Qualifications:
    • Proven Leadership: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in a nonprofit or Jewish communal organization, with a strong record of quantifiable, proven success in organizational development, staff management and fundraising. At least 5 years of executive leadership experience is highly preferred. Individuals with similar proven leadership in the for-profit sector will also be considered for this position.
    • Jewish Knowledge: A deep understanding of Jewish traditions, values, and community dynamics. Passion for supporting Israel and a commitment to strengthening Jewish identity and continuity.
    • Education and Credentials: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred.
      Compensation:Range: $175,000 to $225,000 base and benefits package
