Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina,
Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Rogers Group is currently seeking a Tax Manager to join our
Corporate Tax team. This position plays a vital role in supporting
the department's daily operations and long-term growth. The
Corporate Tax team oversees all aspects of corporate income tax
compliance, planning, and provision. As a Tax Manager, you will be
responsible for preparing federal and multi-state income tax
returns, tax provision preparation, tax planning, and leading a
team of tax accountants. Additional duties may include income tax
research and providing audit assistance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local
income tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and
regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax accountants.
Manage the calculation and review of quarterly estimated tax
payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Roll forward and/or reconcile various tax-related accounts.
Play a key role in the preparation of the annual income tax
provision (ASC 740), ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues, providing
strategic solutions and contributing to special projects as
required.
Collaborate with other departments and assist in tax audits,
providing necessary documentation and support as needed.
Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned,
demonstrating flexibility and leadership in various tax-related
areas.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Certified Public Accountant.
Minimum of 5 - 7 years of progressive income tax compliance.
Minimum of 2 years of management experience.
Experience working with an ERP system, Oracle R12 experience
preferred.
Experience working with IBM Planning and Analytics is a plus.
Experience working the mining industry is a plus.
Qualifications (Skills & Abilities):
Experience with multi-state corporate and partnership income tax
returns.
Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction to
accomplish objectives.
Ability to research issues, make recommendations, and pick up
quickly on new systems and processes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving
skills.
Advanced Excel skills & enjoys learning new technology.
Well organized, detail-oriented, focused, and a team player.
Knowledge of Mining and Construction Taxation is a plus.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with the
ability to work with all types of individuals.
