PurposeThe Master Scheduler has the overall responsibility for
scheduling production for all Saxco CPC's and 3PL's as well as
maintaining the daily reporting for all facilities. The Master
Scheduler will work closely with Purchasing, Customer Service,
Warehouse and Production to ensure OTIF delivery of all orders and
will look to optimize production runs to support operating
efficiency. Further, the Master Scheduler will support mid- and
long-term labor planning and capacity planning. The Master
Scheduler will have additional responsibilities to help support
warehouse operations, Saxco quality team, and purchasing for key
products. Primary ResponsibilitiesNear-term scheduling (2-6
weeks)
- Responsible for assisting with National Custom Packaging
Center's (CPC) areas of planning, allocation, production,
scheduling and routing
- Schedule production orders by line and job type, maximizing
output but ensuring capabilities match job requirements and
customer fulfillment is met on time
- Coordinate directly with purchasing on inbound raw material,
ensure raw material on hand continues to stay at desired service
and safety stock levels
- Collaborate with production supervisors and warehouse personnel
to ensure production runs smoothly and support ad-hoc requests as
they arise
- Facilitate and complete time studies and cost estimates for
custom and/or first time jobs
- Monitor material scrap rate, production line speeds and other
critical KPIS
- Support daily warehouse reporting and MRP support
- Responsible for creating production orders and purchase orders
for all Third-Party Logistics (3PL) products and Saxco
facilities
- Help maintain Bill of Material's (BOM's), routes and plan
settings within ERP system
- Monitor the flow of allocated orders through all warehouse
processes, taking appropriate actions on out of standard
issues
- Manage inbound/outbound intricacies related to special service
repacks (gift packs, filled goods, reselect, other specialty
services)
- Facilitate communication of routes added to new SKUs
- Act to ensure appropriate service levels are maintained for all
customers
- Monitor and resolve MRP messages to support optimized
production planning and customer fulfillmentMid-long term
scheduling (2-10 months)
- Work with Saxco quality team to document supplier's AQL limits
for key products
- Lead and coordinate the capture of all defective products, the
status of their disposition and ultimate resolution with the
supplier and customer if necessary
- Maintain Saxco's quality claim tracker to ensure quality issues
are worked through timely and the appropriate funds are
recovered
- Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact for Saxco's
Quality team
- Adherence and accuracy to the supplier consensus plan. Timely
identification of deviations to supply consensus plan and
alternative solutions if needed to get back to consensus plan.
- Ensures purchase orders are updated and maintained timely in AX
Microsoft Dynamics to reflect the latest estimate of when product
will be received at its end destination.
- Review and resolution of AX Material Resource Planning messages
including advance, defer, increase, decrease, cancel and/or planned
purchase orders.
- Responsible for the preparation, submit for approval,
communication to supplier and ongoing maintenance of a purchase
order line and the associated charges until it is received at its
end destination.
- If there are changes in expected delivery, prices, quantities,
and other pertinent requirements of our purchase, the Master
Scheduler is to notify their supervisor and key stakeholders
immediately and present alternative solutions, if necessary, to
avoid impacts to customers and Saxco.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the receipt schedule and the
coordination of logistics with transportation, the supplier, and
our warehouses / third party logistic providers to ensure product
is received on time and within expected delivery appointments.
- Understands the supplier's production requirements, production
lines, lead time, minimum order quantities, color / product
campaigns, unit costs and additional charges (surcharges, etc.),
and payment terms. This understanding will be used to support
inventory optimization, supplier growth, new business development
opportunities and other associated activities.
- Collects, maintains, and communicates to relevant stakeholder's
unit costs, surcharges, price increases, and other pertinent
information.
- Support customer service and other stakeholders in the
resolution of potential customer delivery failures. The Master
Scheduler is expected to understand product specifications and be
able to use provided tools to identify alternative products and
solutions to meet the customer requirements.
- Understands market pricing for the products they purchase,
identification of negotiation or cost reduction opportunities
through optimization, index changes or other activities.
- Identification and quantification of supplier claims. To
provide all supporting detail to their supervisor to support the
successful negotiation and collection of the claim.
- Support the identification and disposition of stranded and aged
inventory and other inventory optimization opportunities.
- Responsible for the accuracy of supplier and item master data
and participates in new item code setup to support customer
requirements and supplier growth. Liaison with the supplier and
internal departments to collect key item documents like bottle
drawings, pallet configurations, CAD designs, artwork, and other
pertinent documents for Saxco's master data and asset library
requirements.
- Supports the overall S&OP process, including the
identification of supply optimization opportunities, supplier
opportunities and risks, and associated recommendations to support
company goals. RequirementsEducation, Work Experience and Skills
- 5+ years working experience within high volume
distribution/production environment
- Previous ERP/MRP system experience (experience with Microsoft
AX a plus)
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Excel and
Outlook
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Sense of urgency and a "can do" attitude
- The ability to work independently but also work effectively
within a team environment
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and
maintain focus
- Strong project management and/or analytical skills
