  • And more! Role Summary: The Veterinary Technician in the Radiation Oncology department serves as the primary technician to the Oncologist(s). They work to assist the Oncologist in their daily duties and carry out their treatment/diagnostic plans. Compassion, patience, professionalism, and kindness to all clients, whether in person or on the phone, are a must. Position Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
    • Appointment intake, documenting histories, treatments, and diagnostics into veterinary software (EzyVet)
    • Handling department voicemail, client callbacks, and documentation. Reviewing estimates and discharges with clients and providing education on various oncology disease processes and procedures.
    • Assisting with all exams, treatments, and diagnostics (radiation therapy, chemotherapy treatments, patient exams, etc.) Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates. Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
    • Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot linear accelerator (LINAC) Requirements:
      • LVMT CVT, LVT, or RVT licensure required, and at least 1+ years of veterinary hospital experience
      • Have a reasonably in-depth understanding of veterinary medicine and basic disease processes. Broad technical abilities in phlebotomy, catheterization, patient restraint, radiographs, in-house lab, pharmacology, medication/fluid/oxygen administration, anesthesia monitoring, etc.
      • Attention to detail, with strong organizational and communication skills with both clients and team members. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
      • Knowledge of equipment and supplies associated with Radiation Oncology
      • Flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours if necessary. Required to participate in weekend anesthesia on-call and specialty weekend sign up
